Quick Ways to become a Superhost on Airbnb

You are here because you are wanting to be a superhost!
You are in the right place. I became superhost in 5 weeks after I joined Airbnb. I joined in the last few days of August and by October 1st, I was superhost. I will show you the tricks, don’t worry!
But before then, who is a superhost?
There are two main hosts on Airbnb, primary host and superhost. When you start on airbnb, you start as a primary host and then when you meet all the criteria for Airbnb superhost, you become superhost.
According to Airbnb, a super host is a host that is highly rated, reliable, responsive and experienced.
How do you become a superhost on Airbnb?
Airbnb has 4 superhost criteria currently:
1. You need to have an overall rating of 4.8 and above
2. You need to be a responsive host – maintain 90% response rate or higher.
3. You need to maintain less than 1% cancelation rate with exceptions made.
4. You need have 10 completed trips or 3 reservations that total at least 100 nights
Benefits of becoming an Airbnb superhost
More guests
There are guest who want to only stay with superhost. Thus, when they are booking Airbnb, they filter their search for superhost. Hence, as a superhost, you will get more guests booking you.
Also, Airbnb algorithm may rank you higher than primary hosts.
More money
With more guests, come with more bookings and more money. Simple right?
More rewards
Aibnb gives you 20% more in referral bonus when you are superhost. Also, if you are a superhost for 4 consecutive times, Airbnb will give travel coupon.
The flex
Well, you get the flex of being reliable, responsive, experienced and highly rated. As I always say, I am a superhost for a reason.
Superhost Assesments
Superhost are assessed by Airbnb every 3 months on these days:
1st Janaury
1st Aptil
1st July
1st October
So, you can become Airbnb superhost anytime within the year!
Quick ways to become Superhost fast based on the criteria
You can start by 1st September and can be a superhost by 1st October. Easy! Are you asking how? I will show you below based on each of the superhost criteria.
1. You need to have an overall rating of 4.8 and above
To get an overall rating of 4.8 above, you need to provide a 5-star hosting which includes
a. Having a seamless check in,
b. Clean place,
c. Check in with your guest whiles they are still there in the space
d. Accurate listing
e. Set up the place so the space makes people feel at home
f. Don't have overly filtered pictures. If it's within your budget, get professional shots of your place.
2. You need to be a responsive host – maintain 90% response rate or higher.
a. 1. To be a responsive host, have Airbnb send you an
1. Email
2. Message
3. And notification
When a guest reaches out to you on the app/website.
b. If you have a smart phone, get a smart phone and connect your phone to your watch. This makes you see any messages, emails and notification from the Airbnb app.
c. 2. Have a co-host who can help you respond to your guests when you are busy.
3. You need to maintain less than 1% cancelation rate with exceptions made.
Do not cancel, if you feel uncomfortable and need to cancel, call Airbnb and have them cancel for you penalty free.
If you cancel, Airbnb
a. Charges you a service fee
b. Blocks the dates that you canceled the reservations for. Which means you cannot book those dates on the app.
c. It will affect your superhost status.
4. You need have 10 completed trips or 3 reservations that total at least 100 nights
It is easier to get the 10 completed trips within a short time over the 3 reservations with 100 nights.
Below are things you can do to get the 10 completed trips.
a. Airbnb promotion
When you list your home, Airbnb asks that you give your first 3 customers 20%, take it. It will make people book you because people are hoping to save money.
These few people who book with the promotion will come in and give you, your first couples of reviews.
b. Cancellation policy
Set your cancelation policy to flexible. Guests are more likely to book with hosts that have flexible cancelation because well, life happens and people will need to cancel. You can set it back to other policies when you have your superhost status.
c. Minimum days
To get the 10 completed bookings, set your minimum days people can book to a minimum of two days or at least one day. This will help you get in the 10 bookings fast.
d. Instant booking
To get the 10 bookings in to check the superhost criteria, instant booking is your best bet. Turn on instant but make sure you have requirements that guests need to meet before they can instantly book you.
e. Amenities
There are some amenities you need to have in your home that guests want. To know some of these amenities, please check here. People are choosing Airbnb over hotels because most airbnbs have kitchens. Make sure you have the needed amenities that will let people book you.
