THINGS I AM GOING TO DO TO LOSE AND MAINTAIN WEIGHT|DURABLE LIFESTYLE| PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

I am hope you are well?

So let's talk about weight loss, I have tried to lose weight twice and I have been successful. Two things helped me: exercising and dieting. My biggest issue has been how to maintain the weight when I lose it.

Recently, I joined a group that support durable lifestyle changes and I liked it.

The goal was to find something you can incorporate in your daily activities.

When I joined the group, I tried and I was able to lose weight from 97 kg to 95kg.

Yesterday, I was at my doctor's office and I realized I was still at 95kg but I have been advised to lose the weight.

This is because I work corporate and I am always sitting at my desk. Plus my hobbies include sitting and not being active and so I need to be intentional about losing weight and being active.

Thus, these are the ways I am planning to create sustainable and durable lifestyle changes. 


Staying away from Sugars/Sodas

I am going to stay away from sugars and soda unless it is very necessary for me to take them.

I have stopped taking soda in a while. I guess this is helping me with maintaining my weight.


Portion Control

I will be ensuring that I eat in moderation. To make it a durable lifestyle, I cannot stay away from rice, banku, kenkey or bread but I will eat them in moderation.


Exercise 

Exercising and dieting have worked really well for me in the past to lose weight. To make is sustainable, my exercise routine will include walking (preferably indoor) and dancing. I will not have fixed days for exercising but I will try and give 15 minutes of my lunch break to walking indoors or dancing.

I will try and repeat this in the evenings as well if I have a chance.


Time of Eating

I have the habit of eating late. In this new journey, I will try and eat before 7pm. If I am hungry and I want to really eat after 7pm, then I will eat fruits.


Drinking lots of water

This is hard but I will try. I am not a big fan of drinking water but I need to do it. So I will try and drink 1000ml per day.


Accountably Partner

I have told my husband about it and I know he will check in with me and hold me accountable to all the things I want to do.

Having an accountability partner like my husband can be annoying because he will me to adhere to my plans but it is very important.

To lose weight and maintain it, having an accountability partner is a great asset.

Now, you all are my accountability partners.

I will check in with you every month (I will try *wink*) via this blog to give an update. I will weigh myself and let you know what's working for me or not working.
